| News from the EMEA Committee on Herbal Medicinal Products Dr. Barbara Steinhoff Bundesverband der Arzneimittel-Hersteller e.V. (BAH), Bonn (Germany)
The Committee on Herbal Medicinal Products (HMPC), which was founded in September 2004, met for the 7th and 8th time at the EMEA offices on 19- 20 September and 22- 23 November 2005, respectively, under the chairmanship of Dr. Konstantin Keller (Germany). As a new co-opted member in the field of experimental/non-clinical pharmacology, Dr. G. Laekeman was appointed. During these meetings, a large number of guidance documents elaborated by the Committee’s drafting groups were discussed. Draft documents for public consultation as well as finalised documents can be found on the EMEA website (www.emea.eu.int). Some important new documents, which might be of interest to the European herbal industry, will briefly be discussed in the following. |
