News from the EMEA Committee on Herbal Medicinal Products Dr. Barbara Steinhoff Bundesverband der Arzneimittel-Hersteller e.V. (BAH), Bonn (Germany) The Committee on Herbal Medicinal Products (HMPC) met for the 22nd, 23rd and 24th time at the EMEA offices on 5–6 March, 7–8 May and 2–3 July 2008, respectively, under the chairmanship of Dr. Konstantin Keller (Germany). In these meetings, many new guidance documents were discussed in the HMPC‘s working parties and subgroups, i.e. the Working Party on Community Monographs and Community List (MLWP) chaired by Dr. Heribert Pittner (Austria), the Quality Drafting Group and the Organisational Matters Drafting Group. The respective drafts released for public consultation as well as the finalised documents can be found on the EMEA website (www.emea.europa.eu). Some important new documents, which might be of particular interest for the herbal industry, will be discussed in the following. |
