Supplementary Recommendations for the Processing of Fresh Plants used for Homoeopathic Preparations Peter Riedl1, 3, Dr. Walter Witt1, 3, and Dr. Barbara Steinhoff 2, 3 1 DHU Arzneimittel GmbH & Co. KG, Karlsruhe (Germany) Processing of fresh plants used for homoeopathic preparations is to some extent not covered by the recommendations of Good Agricultural and Collection Practice (GACP) of the existing EMEA note for guidance. For this reason a working group of BAH (Bundesverband der Arzneimittel-Hersteller e.V.), the German Association of Medicines’ Manufacturers, has compiled supplementary recommendations describing how to handle fresh plant material between harvesting/collection and the manufacture of the homoeopathic preparation according to the European Pharmacopoeia or national rules. This document might be of interest for companies producing homoeopathic medicinal products in particular facing the fact that important steps of e.g. further processing of the material are not covered by existing guidance. |
