Quality Control Procedures for Glass as Primary Packaging Material / Leakage test with high voltage and particles checking with vision systems

At the production from aseptic products there are very high standards on the glass containers. The containers must be leak proof to avoid the intrusion of microorganisms. Additionally the intrusion of oxygen from the air could speed up the decomposition of the agent. Beside the leakage test the check of extrinsic particles in the filling is an other main checking job.
There are additional important optical checks for the production (form of the tip, position of the stopper, and so on). To do all these checking exercises there are complex checking machines available which can be combined to an efficient checking-line. The leakage checking with high-voltage has been accepted over the last years as a rational method to check a lot of containers in an acceptable time. In the particles checking area there are new powerful machines, because of a new generation of vision systems. The described techniques allow to improve and to simplify the inspection of products.
