The authors want to propose an “Operations Regulatory Intelligence” system which consists of management tools and processes and ensures that the various stakeholders – in particular subject matter experts, senior industry managers and regulators – are continuously aware of new regulatory requirements and their implications. The core element is a regularly updated regulatory topic portfolio grid, augmented by issue management sheets and action plans. “Operations Regulatory Intelligence” (ORI) is a risk-based information processing system dedicated to identifying, assessing, prioritizing and communicating emerging regulatory environment changes relevant to operations of a pharmaceutical company ( Fig. 1 ).
