This paper analyses the interaction between different compositions of blends and different filling technologies for inhalation powders. The blends consist of 1 basic coarse lactose plus 3 different fines in 3 different concentrations, resulting in a broad range of flowability. The blending parameters were kept constant. The blends were physically characterized and filled with 3 different dosing systems: dosator, vacuum drum and membrane filler. The filling results were statistically analyzed, and the Critical Process Parameter (CPP) was defined, if feasible.
