phospholipids depot injectable slow release Achieving a reproducible sustained delivery at the target site when administering a drug systematically or locally is of paramount importance in the field of drug delivery. The most commonly used formulations, which can release drugs longer than one week, are parenteral injections and implants. Examples of such sustained delivery injectables presently available in the US market are provided in Table 1.
