The Committee on Herbal Medicinal Products (HMPC) held the 105 th , 106 th and 107 th meeting on 16–18 May, 18–20 Jul, and 19–21 Sep 2022, respectively. Information about some documents which might be of particular interest to the herbal industry will be presented in the following. All relevant information on the HMPC work including agendas, meeting reports, and detailed minutes, as well as all final documents and drafts released for consultation, are publicly available and can be accessed through the EMA website www.ema.europa.eu/en/committees/committee-herbal-medicinal-products-hmpc .

Gemäß den EU-GMP-Regeln wird eine Reinigungsvalidierung durchgeführt, um die Wirksamkeit der Reinigungsverfahren zu bestätigen. Diese Anforderungen gelten auch für pflanzliche und homöopathische Arzneimittel pflanzlichen Ursprungs, deren Wirkstoffe komplexe Gemische verschiedener Bestandteile sind. Für diese Produkte wird ein risikobasiertes Konzept vorgeschlagen, das Unternehmen und Behörden bei der Bewertung der Prozesse der Reinigungsvalidierung in der täglichen Praxis unterstützen kann. Die Risikobewertung von Zubereitungen und Arzneimitteln pflanzlichen Ursprungs beginnt mit der Identifizierung des Worst-Case-Produkts. Zu diesem Zweck kann entweder eine kombinierte Bewertung von Toxikologie und Reinigbarkeit oder eine Bewertung durch 2 separate Risikobewertungen durchgeführt werden.
